Membership of Hipp!!Bones is open to young people with additional needs and disabilities between 11 and 19 years of age living in North Dorset and neighbouring counties. Although we can continue to provide a service to vulnerable adults up to age 25, continued membership beyond age 25 will be at the discretion of the Trustees.
- Membership runs from 1st September to 31st August and must be renewed annually.
- Hipp!!Bones must be in receipt of a completed membership form prior to the member being left in our care.
- Membership forms must be completed by the parent/carer of members below the age of 18 years of age. Members between the age of 18 and 25 years of age will be encouraged to complete their own membership forms with support, where appropriate, provided parental consent is given.
- Parents/carers of members will be asked to provide specific information about the member on joining the club, to enable us to provide a service that aims to meet each individual member’s needs. This personal data will be stored in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- In some circumstances an assessment visit or home visit maybe necessary to fully understand the prospective member’s needs prior to offering them a place. This will enable staff to risk assess whether we can safely meet the individual’s needs and identify the level of support they may need when attending the club. Whilst we aim to meet the needs of all SEND young people, it is recognised that in extenuating circumstances this may not always be possible.
- Where demand for places is higher than the number we have available, prospective member’s contact details will be placed on a waiting list.
- Membership fees are £6 per session and will be reviewed annually.
- The Hipp!!Bones Trustees may consider terminating or suspending the membership of any member who repeatedly contravenes the ‘Code of Conduct’ agreed to on joining. The member shall have the right of appeal.
- In cases of genuine financial hardship, the Trustees may agree to waive the membership fee and/or trip costs.
